DAM House I live at the DAM House in Davis, CA (an hour east of the SF Bay Area and 15 minutes west of Sacramento), as seen in the Lightning Bolt “Power of Salad and Milkshakes” DVD.

We have had bimonthly shows for 16 years at this house, beginning in 1989 with a Babes in Toyland show. Butterglory used to play an annual show here every Christmas for three years in a row. Tiger Trap played here. Even Rocket From the Crypt.

The house was home to some KDVS DJ’s in 1989, and ever since then, the lease has been handed down within the social structure of the radio station. It was primarily an “indie rock” house for the first 7 years before a year of weird quasi-raves, and then in 1997, some wacko experimental noise freaks moved in and gave the house a new name...the Davis Anti Music House.

Since 1998, we’ve diversified and spent hundreds of dollars on food and drinks and had many theme-oriented parties with some really great bands.

Riot Factory is Boise, Idaho’s new secret underground venue aimed at bringing more diverse music into Boise (or more appropriately—importing the “cool”) and providing a non-elitist, non-alienating, non-genre focused show environment.

Since I started it up two months ago we’ve booked some of our favorite bands, including: The Robot Ate Me, Princess, The Wanteds, Service Group, Drew Danbury, and the Ex-Models. There is a growing K Records scene out here and we’d be psyched to see you. — Tera and Jon

This is a locally owned bookstore that is beginning to have quite a good reputation for well-attended all ages shows. Recently rocking the dusty pages were the Golden Shoulders, Jon Crocker, Jason Anderson, and Bellafea. We can provide housing, food, good times. This is a bookstore. Hardcore bands, I can direct you to a friend who might have you at his house. But other than that, I can't quite help you out. We will make exceptions to have loud music (i.e. Bellafea, Y.A.C.H.T., Bobby Birdman, E*Rock) - but you must be special and really nice. Well you get the idea. Forward thinking folks.
